Really it is.

At this point in my life, I have come to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter what you believe religion wise –it’s probably not true, anyway.

What matters is how you treat others.

Think about it for a minute. Everybody you pass on the street, zoom by in your car, the people you order your food from, everybody one day will die. Doesn’t it just make sense to be nice to one another and treat everybody will compassion?

Those who cling to religion – will use this concept of faith. Well, you just have to have faith.

Here is the problem with how they use it. Faith to them is to blindly follow a set of beliefs and rules. It imposes on people what to think and what not to, what is good and what is bad, what is right and what is wrong.

Their version of faith – prevents people from exercising their critical thinking, seeking the truth and reaching to their own conclusions based on their reasoning and life experiences.

Another way to view faith – I like to think of faith like learning to swim in a pool. Instead of clinging to the edge – you let go and trust yourself that you can do it. It is not this thing of magic and mystery. It is simply trusting yourself and trusting in your abilities.

In other words, do not just accept something because you’re told it. It has to come from within.

And I think that this where I see so many, (I will use Christians here since that is what I am most familiar with.) see so many Christians in pain. Or fervent like.

Think about it for a minute – If you are told to believe in something with all your heart… (and if your don’t your eternity will be in fires of hell) and you know (if you are being honest with yourself) deep down that is not what you believe. There exists a duality problem.

This duality is going to cause you a lot of discomfort. And what are you going to do about it?
